Friends & Family Nature Walk: Tauhindauli Restoration Day!
Saturday, April 11th, 1-4pm, Tauhindauli Park, 4223 Upper Soda Rd, Dunsmuir, CA 96025
Join the Friends of Tauhindauli Park and us for the first Earth Caretaker Club Restoration Day at Tauhindauli Park. This special gathering invites community members of all ages to care for a beloved local landscape while learning more about the ecology and natural history of the area.
We’ll begin the afternoon with a guided nature walk through the park to explore the plants, wildlife, and cultural history of the land. After a short break for snacks—and some “before” photos of the restoration area—we’ll roll up our sleeves and begin our hands-on stewardship work together, helping restore and care for this beautiful space.
To close out the day, we’ll slow down for a nature journaling session, capturing the transformation of the site and reflecting on our experience through writing, drawing, or observation. No art or journaling experience is needed, and we will provide some materials to share.
This event marks the first restoration activity for our Earth Caretaker Club, and everyone is welcome to participate. Whether you’re a longtime volunteer or joining us for the first time, it’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect with others, and care for the land together.
We will meet at Dunsmuir City Park at 1:00 pm, where there is more available parking. From there, we will walk together to Tauhindauli Park (less than one mile).
Please register to receive additional details, necessary changes, and so that we may plan snacks and tools accordingly.
Please bring a water bottle, gardening gloves if you have them, and sturdy walking shoes. A sun hat is recommended, and you may also want to bring a bagged lunch or snacks. We will have our tool trailer available with restoration tools for everyone to use, as well as complementary snacks.
