🎨Siskiyou County Arts Council Third Annual Siskiyou X Days

The Siskiyou County Arts Council announces the revival of Siskiyou X Days, a ten-day art experience and open studios series. Initiated in fall of 2019, the series was canceled in 2020 as a result of social distancing requirements during the pandemic. Reinitiated in 2023, the Siskiyou County Arts Council is excited to showcase artists, culture bearers, and creatives for a third year.

With funding support from the California Arts Council, the series will run from Friday, October 24^th through Sunday, November 2^nd.

Siskiyou X Days highlights the vibrancy of arts activities in the county while uplifting historically excluded artists and untapped nodes of soft power. Connecting and supporting artists lays the foundation to develop stronger economic and cultural opportunities for Siskiyou. X Days is intended to drive arts and culture tourism through communities, particularly to communities far off of I-5.

All events are developed by participants and are free and open to the public. “When we enable community members to develop their own event, the real character of Siskiyou is on display. We believe that the public enthusiastically embraces that authenticity and engages with opportunities for genuine social connection” says Arts Council Executive Director, Patricia Lord.

Co-curated by Franklin Thom and Brenda Montaño, X Days continues to offer unique experiences that reflect the true diversity of Siskiyou County.

The series includes many of the wonderful galleries and well-known venues in the area, however the true highlight of the series is insider access to normally private studios, specially developed arts-oriented events, and the opportunity to meet some of the artists who call Siskiyou home in person.
