The 28th Annual Montague Balloon Fair is set to take place from September 18–20, 2026 in Montague, California. Hosted by the Montague Rotary Club, this beloved annual event transforms the skies into a vibrant canvas of color as dozens of hot air balloons take flight at sunrise and sunset. Visitors can expect a magical weekend filled with mesmerizing balloon displays, delicious food vendors, and family-friendly activities. The fair is one of the region’s most anticipated events, drawing balloonists and spectators from across the country!

Remember No Smoking, No Drones and No Dogs outside of RV camping area

Some useful tips to help you enjoy this colorful and spectacular event.

• No Dogs Please. For everyone’s safety please leave your dogs at home

• Smoking and vaping are prohibited.  Besides the obvious flammable properties of propane, cigarette cherries damage balloons.

• Help the pilots out by not stepping on the balloon material and please move if instructed to do so by the pilot or crew.

• Bring lawn chairs if you want to sit rather than walk around. 

• Bring your camera, but leave your DRONES at home.
