Advocacy: We are your liaisons with City, County, State and federal Government.
Referrals: The Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce and its affiliate organization, the Mt. Shasta Visitors' Bureau, have almost 26,000 visitors per year requesting recommendations on goods and services with another 68,000 visitors researching online. We refer only our Chamber members to these newcomers, visitors and area residents.
Membership Directory: Included in your membership investment is an alphabetical and categorical listing for your business/organization in the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce Business Directory. This directory goes out annually to the entire membership who are asked to use this resource prior to picking up a phone book. The Chamber Directory is the most requested part of our relocation packets. They are available at local businesses and are included in trade shows and economic development consortiums.
Newsletter: The Chamber Connection is the Chamber's quarterly newsletter with a circulation of 400. The newsletter includes coverage of Chamber news, business-related community issues, an events calendar and a scheduled of business oriented meetings. Chamber members can insert a flyer for a nominal fee (call the office for details.)
Website Listing: Your business is listed on the Chamber's website which receives an average of 190 visits per day. These listings are free to members, as is the link to your website.
Information Resource: The Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce is here to provide your business with the necessary information, whether it be local, regional, state or national, to keep you aware of what is happening in business, and help answer your business related questions.
Committee Involvement: Membership in the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce provides you with an opportunity to get involved, if you so choose. Members are invited to join a committee and add their voice to an area of their interest. Your level of involvement is completely up to you; the more you are involved, the greater the benefits.
Inexpensive Promotional Opportunities: The Chamber mailing labels are available to members. The chamber office can print them for you or you can download them for the website. You can then use our bulk mail stamp and save 40% on your next bulk mailing.
Promotional Displays: Only members can display their business cards and promotional materials at the Visitors' Bureau Pavilion, giving you business exposure to thousands of visitors yearly.
Advertising Opportunities: Only Chamber members can advertise in the Chamber Directory and in the Newsletter. Chamber members get a huge discount when advertising in the Visitors' Guide, a printed piece given to each visitor at the pavilion, sent to people requesting tourism related information, and featured on the website for browsing and downloading.
Insurance Plans: Health plans including dental and vision benefits are available to all employees of Chamber members.
Tax Deductibility: Membership in the Chamber may be tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.
Grand Openings, Ground Breakings and Ribbon Cuttings: The Chamber in association with the local newspaper provide free coverage, including a photo of the events.
Event Sponsorship: The Chamber hosts many events throughout the year for its members and the citizens of Mt. Shasta. These events are sponsored by the "Celebrate Community Partners" programs, which is a select group of local businesses and organizations that have joined together with the Chamber to improve the quality of events in our community. These Premier Sponsors receive preferential benefits and a package of exclusive promotions throughout the year as well as the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
Annual Awards Banquet: This event provides the Chamber an opportunity to recognize local dignitaries and enjoy the evening with friends. Always a great success!
Seminars, Workshops & Forums: The Chamber provides members with opportunities for increasing knowledge of business practices. Education, training and development skills for members and their staff are a major focus.
Networking: The Chamber hosts several opportunities for a business relationship, from Chamber Mixers to the monthly General Membership Meetings. The chamber hosts various opportunities to meet other chamber members and create new business contacts. We offer a Member-to-Member discount program, with exclusive member access through the Chamber website.
Small Business Start-Up Kit: County and City start-up information including forms are available for purchase at the chamber office on CD or hardcopy.
Relocation Packets: The Chamber and Visitors' Bureau receives approximately 60-70 requests for relocation information. For a nominal fee any chamber member can place any information for sales and service into each packet.
